Marginalization and intersectionality definitely came into play for me ...always over delivering, always bargaining for my place at the table. I put a full stop to that a couple years ago and I am enjoying taking up space.
There’s something I can learn from you. The first thing is perspective - it didn’t occur to me to think about what it’s like for people who think they take up too much space. Maybe you sometimes take up the right amount but someone else says you’re too much? Or you leave space for others but they don’t step into it. Hmmmm. Thanks for your comment!
This hits home for me right now. Thanks for sharing this insight!
🤩 thanks for reading!

You took a major risk and it paid off. I’m so happy for you 😁
Thanks. 😊 it's an ongoing practice, that's for sure.
I read your piece with interest. I am SUCH an extrovert and very aware of ‘taking up too much space’. I often do and it’s just a chance to regroup
It makes me sad to think that others censor themselves because it makes them feel so awful
